I think my perspective about paying for games has been thrown way off. I think it's just because I'm beyond cheap and these Itch bundles have spoiled me. Okay going back and playing it for a bit longer, Yeah 15 isn't that bad. You should go, 15 bucks!? Hold on I have to go back and play this some more to see if this is honestly worth 15 USD. So that counts right?Īnyway this game is interesting and a bit of fun to run around in. OH BUT I used to love the Brick maze screensaver on Windows back in the day. I don't think I ever played games like this. The earliest RPG I played on the PC was Diablo 2 and the earliest thing I ever played that was First person was Chex Quest. It was like playing as a piece on a big game board. There was this clean 90 degree dungeon where you could only move forward and back or rotate left and right. Before full 3d movement in Doom and other First person shooters. The game takes that retro style that used to be huge back in the day. Moving on to the other half of this gameplay and that Dungeon crawling part. Going off to go do a speed test I was about 190 CPM so take that however you want. That last paragraph was a mess to type, I was thinking about my hands and they must have developed performance anxiety. Constantly shifting all over and floating to use mostly my pointer and middle finder to do most of the typing. ![]() ![]() My left hand is fairly dextrous and decent at resting on the “ASDF” keys and not needing to look at where my fingers go. But, the second that you ask me to type something that someone else wants, in a typing test, writing other people's stories, or worse a string of random letters or words. Typing my thoughts onto a doc, and filling up a page with the ideas and words that i’m trying to convey to others, is easy. This game is unfortunately fairly hard for people who are like me, who are decently competent at typing. Walk up to one, read what it says, and then hold the backspace key and you can take the spaces from the sign and add them to your bank.Īlong with that, in the dialogue boxes if there is a possible conjunction like “you are” or “should have” or “Could not” you can turn them into conjunctions and save a space.Īnd seeing how these levels are tightly designed, you’re going to want to conserve your spaces as best as possible. And the more you use the quicker you get to game over. You have, not only your health that can be depleted, but also the number of spaces you can use. Along the way you will be fighting skeletons and other dungeon fantasy creatures. Make it to the top of the tower and you win the game. You play as Kana who is adventuring to the top of the tower to find her friend or cure her dad. This dungeon happens to be the lair of a big badie who lives at the top of this tower. Welcome back to Mummified Games, my name is Tony and today we’re here to talk about the Typing speed adventure game Backspace Bouken by RNG Games.īackspace Bouken is a Typing of the Dead style adventure game where you are going to be going around and around a dungeon trying to fight off monsters by typing out what's in the dialogue box before the monsters can hurt you. Well guess what, I've got a new Typing of the Dead but it's a retro dungeon crawler. Hey, Typing of the Dead, yall remember Typing of the Dead right.
